Version 4.0 · 26 October 2026 · Prepared for Apple App Store & Google Play review · Conesworth Limited (New Zealand)
Purpose of this document. JoyR1der is for adults only, so it has no parental controls: there are no child or teen accounts and no parent- or guardian-managed accounts. This page explains, for app-store reviewers, parents and anyone else who asks, how we keep the Service 18+ and how our age checks work. It summarises section 2 of our Terms & Conditions; read it with our Privacy Policy and Child-Safety Standards.
1. Who operates JoyR1der
JoyR1der is a live-entertainment app operated by Conesworth Limited, a company incorporated in New Zealand (company number 1862936), registered office 16 Rautawhiri Road, Helensville 0800, New Zealand. Safety contact: safety@joyr1der.com.
2. Minimum age: 18
You must be at least 18 to create an account or use JoyR1der. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up, and the sign-up screens will not accept one under 18.
The 18+ rule exists to keep children off the Service. It is not a permission for adult content (see section 7).
3. Age checks
We do not rely on a date of birth alone. Most of the Service sits behind an age check:
What you want to do
What you need
Browse, follow, watch public streams, chat in public streams
An account (18+ date of birth)
Ride an event (including a free Test-Drive ride), spend real money, send a direct or private message, upload media, join a group audio or video call, go on camera, host, co-host, promote, sell content, or moderate an event
The free face liveness and age-estimation check (a “selfie”), analysed by Amazon Rekognition
Receive a payout, create an organisation, become an advertiser or researcher, or become a community, senior or official moderator; also anyone whose selfie cannot clearly confirm they are an adult
A government-ID check through Stripe Identity
Anyone may choose the government-ID check instead of the selfie, anywhere. Someone a check confirms is under 18 is removed from the Service.
4. Checks on camera
We may also check the age of whoever is on camera, however they verified: a frame is checked each time someone goes live and when a camera is turned on in an event; staff or a moderator may ask for an on-camera check; and, when we switch it on, a live safety check scans the stream preview for explicit content and apparent minors. An under-18 read can stop the broadcast or the camera and requires a government-ID check. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
5. Face data
We ask for written consent the first time someone takes the selfie, goes live or turns their camera on, and the app won’t start a go-live or turn a camera on without it.
Selfies and camera frames are used only to estimate age and confirm a live person, and are not kept by us or by Amazon; we keep the result. The one exception is a frame flagged as possibly showing a child, which is kept privately as safety evidence until staff close the review.
We never use face data for advertising or profiling, and never sell it.
6. Reporting a suspected minor
Any user can report another user who appears to be under 18. When several independent accounts report the same person within 30 days, that person is automatically asked for a fresh age check (a selfie, then a government-ID check if needed; reports about someone who has already passed a government-ID check go to our staff instead). Our staff also review reports and may require a government-ID check, which is free to the person checked. Anyone confirmed to be under 18, or who refuses or does not complete a required check in time, is removed from the Service.
7. Content standards and moderation
JoyR1der is not an adult-content service. Pornography, nudity and sexual content are prohibited under our Terms and Community Guidelines.
A real child could still appear on camera (for example, a bystander). Child sexual abuse material and any sexualisation of a minor are strictly prohibited. Our staff can run an age estimate on frames of a reported event recording. When we find such material we remove it, preserve the evidence and report it to the appropriate authorities, as set out in our Child-Safety Standards.
Reports are decided by people. Community and senior moderators are unpaid volunteers who pass a government-ID check and accept our Volunteer Moderator Terms, including a duty to escalate illegal or child-safety material without investigating it themselves. The most serious reports, including anything involving a minor, go only to our official moderators, who are JoyR1der staff.
8. For parents
Because children are not allowed on JoyR1der, we do not offer controls for managing a child’s account. To stop a child installing or opening the app, use your device’s own controls, such as Screen Time on Apple devices or Google Family Link on Android. If you believe a child is using JoyR1der, tell us at safety@joyr1der.com and we will review the account.
9. How to reach us
Reviewers, authorities and users can contact our safety team at safety@joyr1der.com (legal matters: legal@joyr1der.com). We respond promptly to child-safety matters.
