Version 1.1 · 26 October 2026 · Conesworth Limited (New Zealand) · Designated copyright agent: Tim Schliebs, legal@joyr1der.com
Our commitment. JoyR1der respects the intellectual-property rights of creators,
performers, artists, labels, studios, broadcasters and event organisers. Everything streamed, posted or
sold on JoyR1der must belong to the person sharing it, or be used with permission. This page explains the
rules hosts must follow, how anyone can report infringement, how we act on reports, how a host can dispute
a removal, and how we deal with repeat infringers. It forms part of our
Terms & Conditions and should be read with our
Privacy Policy and
Community Guidelines.
1. Hosts must own — or be licensed for — everything they stream
When you go live, post, or sell content on JoyR1der you confirm that you are the copyright
owner of every work it contains, or that you hold all the rights, licences, consents and
permissions needed to use it and to let us host, transmit and (where you sell it) sell it on your behalf.
Clearing those rights is your responsibility alone.
2. You may not broadcast other people's work
You must not broadcast, record, re-stream or sell content you do not have the right to use. In
particular, the following are prohibited unless you own or are licensed for the content:
Live-rebroadcasting an event you are attending — a concert, gig, festival, theatre or
other performance, a sports match, or a film, TV broadcast or other ticketed or copyrighted event.
Attending or buying a ticket does not give you the right to broadcast, record or monetise
it;
playing, performing or displaying music, film, images, or other copyrighted material
in your stream or content without a licence;
re-uploading or re-selling someone else's recordings, photos, artwork, or streams;
using trademarks, logos or branding you are not authorised to use.
If you are unsure whether you have the rights, assume you do not, and don't stream it.
3. How to report infringement
We make it easy to tell us:
Any user can report a stream, post, recording or content item from the in-app
Report control (choose "Copyright infringement"), including naming who the real owner is.
Rightsholders (or their agents) can send a formal takedown notice to our designated
copyright agent at legal@joyr1der.com.
To be actionable, a notice should include: your contact details; identification of the copyrighted work;
identification of the infringing content and where it is on JoyR1der (a link or stream/host identifier); a
statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised; a statement, under penalty of
perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the owner or authorised to act for them; and your
signature (physical or electronic).
4. What we do when we receive a valid report
We act expeditiously. Copyright matters are reviewed by our official moderators, who are
JoyR1der staff (not volunteers), and on a valid report we may:
Remove or disable the content — including stopping a live event and
hiding or taking down a recording, post or content item (content is retained privately as evidence, not
simply deleted).
Refund affected riders who paid for the removed content, where appropriate.
Reverse the host's earnings on the removed content.
Notify the host of the removal and the reason.
Record a copyright strike against the host (see §6).
5. Counter-notice — disputing a removal
If you are a host and you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification — for example
because you do own the rights or your use is authorised or otherwise lawful — you may submit a
counter-notice to legal@joyr1der.com (or through the in-app appeal on the
decision). A valid counter-notice identifies the removed content and states, under penalty of perjury, your
good-faith belief that it was removed in error, together with your contact details and consent to the
applicable jurisdiction. We will pass a valid counter-notice to the complaining party and may restore the
content if the complainant does not pursue the matter within the period required by law.
6. Repeat infringers
We keep a record of upheld copyright strikes against each account. In line with 17 U.S.C. §512(i), we
terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. Strikes
contribute to our standard enforcement ladder — escalating limits on reach and features, then suspension,
then permanent termination — and a user terminated for repeat infringement may not re-register.
A strike reversed by a successful counter-notice or appeal no longer counts against the account.
7. How we protect rights across the platform
Agreement up front. Every host accepts our Terms — including the ownership warranty in
§1–§2 — before they can go live or sell.
Reporting on every surface. Streams, posts, recordings and content items all carry an
in-app report control, so infringement can be flagged the moment it is seen.
Fast human review. A single credible copyright report is enough to open a case for
staff review — we don't wait for a crowd to complain.
Able to stop a live event. Our moderators can interrupt or end a live broadcast
immediately where infringement is clear.
Scaling our defences. As the platform grows we are evaluating third-party audio/video
fingerprinting (automatic content recognition) to add proactive detection for high-risk live-rebroadcast
scenarios, alongside the reactive process above.
